URGENT MESSAGE REGARDING EXAMS
Parents, students are bringing their cell phones into our secured exams – and this is a security breech. Any unauthorized form of technology in an exam may cause a mark of zero and if in a Diploma Exam, it must be reported to both CBE Superintendents as well as the Alberta Government. Breaking diploma exam rules may result in the student NOT completing high school until they rewrite that diploma one year later. This is quite serious and we request that you help support your child in NOT breaking any of the exam’s rules.
By explaining the severity of their decisions, you will be helping them as well as our staff in ensuring that our exams are administered without any contraventions and that your student completes all their AB Ed diploma requirements.
School Fees
Please make sure to log in to PowerSchool to review and pay school fees if any. If you don’t have access to PowerSchool, please contact Mrs. Prum at 403-274-2240 Ext. 2005.
Lost and Found
During exam break all lost and found items will be placed on tables in the front foyer. Please have your student check to see if any items are theirs. All items not picked up by the end of day June 26 will be donated.
Lifetouch Ceremony Stage Photos
The Lifetouch Photos taken at the Graduation Ceremony were handed out June 8-10th.
If your student did not pick their photo up, they are available in the Main Office. Please come pick up immediately.
Families of IPP Students
Year-end IPPs were distributed on Wednesday June 3 during TA. If any students did not receive their IPPs, please direct them to Mr. Wylie in the SLC for pickup.
Textbook Return
All textbooks must be returned to the library/book room if students do not need them for their Final/Provincial exams. Please note that after Final/Provincial exams, students must return all their textbooks, otherwise a book fine will be automatically charged to their account. All textbooks are barcoded with a unique number, and students are asked to return the exact same copy signed out to them. Returning somebody else’s copy will not clear your account. If students have questions about their textbooks, please see Ms. Richards in the library.
Avery M is a Grade 12 Graduating Student who is incredibly talented in Visual Art. Her creative process is unique - she does not rely entirely on planning, rather doodles to find artistic inspiration. Avery’s drawings are then used as references for her art pieces, and this is what jumpstarts her creativity. Her most favoured mediums are watercolour and pencil/pen, which is what she primarily uses in her work. Currently, Avery’s biggest challenge would be using acrylic paint, due to the fact that it dries very quickly. She does not limit herself to one specific art style, as she likes to experiment and try different things in order to evolve as an artist. The type of art Avery enjoys looking at includes Wes Anderson films that include curated colour palettes, and murals located in downtown Calgary.
Avery sees creativity as a gift. To her, expressing herself and being able to draw anything that comes to her imagination brings her deep joy!
