Grade 12 April Checklist

The countdown is on for the big day! All graduating grade 12 students need to:

  • Check the graduation list that is displayed in the main hallway* and make sure that your name is on it!
  • Make sure that you have access to/have created your myPass account
  • Check (and double check) that you have received credit in CALM as it is a GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
  • Make an appointment with your contact in Student Services if you are worried about your graduation status

*The graduation list will be updated again after T3 marks are finalized

Graduation 2026

Friday, June 5 is scheduled for the 2026 JGD Graduation.

  • Ceremony - 9:00 AM at Centre Street Campus - 3900 2nd Street NE
  • Reception - 2:30-5:00 PM at Winsport 

 There is an important Grad Parent Evening on Wednesday, April 15 at 6 PM.  This will be a Teams Meeting, the link will be sent out via email on April 14.  Please connect with the main office if you do not receive the link.  

 Details around parking, tickets to the ceremony and the reception will be shared at the parent evening.  If you cannot attend, a link to the powerpoint will be posted to the school website the next day.  

 Please have your student check the grad board to ensure they are on track for graduation and have met all requirements.   Any questions, please see Student Services.

The culmination of twelve years of education is a special time in the life of students, parents and staff and we are excited for the planning of these celebrations!


Requirements for Graduation 2026

High School Graduation is a formal celebration of successfully completion of the Alberta High School Diploma. In order to be eligible to participate in the Graduation Ceremony and Graduation Reception, students must meet the requirements for the diploma.  To cross the stage in your gown, you must be registered in the courses that will have you meeting each specific requirement:

  • minimum of 100 credits
  • 30 Level English
  • 30 Social Studies
  • 20 Level Math
  • 20 Science
  • Phys Ed 10
  • 10 CTS or Fine Arts credits
  • Two additional 30 Level credits

 A graduation list will be posted late October, February, and May outside the main office on the Grad board.   This will include all of the student IDs of those who are on track to meet requirements at those markers. 

Students can see their most current credits through their MyPass account, which they have created in TA.  

Students should not assume they will be allowed to participate in the Graduation Ceremony because they are in grade 12. If you have specific questions, please reach out to your student's guidance counsellor:

Student Graduation Committee:

The student branch of the graduation planning committee will begin meeting on October 29th. Students will have the opportunity to be involved in bringing together our ceremony and reception celebrations!

Valedictorian and Speakers:

Applications for valedictorian and other class representatives will begin in January with final selections being made in second semester. Candidates will be asked to submit report cards, evidence of school involvement, a full draft of their speech, and have the endorsement of all their teachers. Interviews and auditions will be arranged with successful candidates.
