Who: Students in Grades 11 and 12
When: February 11, 2026
Where: During Teacher Advisory

About the CBE Student Survey

The CBE Student Survey:

  • Allows students to share feedback about their experiences at school, the school environment, and school improvement initiatives
  • Provides opportunities for students to contribute to action plans that foster increased engagement
  • Takes approximately 30 minutes to complete

The survey is an opportunity for students to:

  • Reflect on their abilities and accomplishments
  • Take pride in what they have achieved

In alignment with CBE’s Education Plan, survey results are used in school and district reporting to demonstrate that students are:

  • At the center of all CBE decisions
  • Able to integrate and apply knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies across disciplines
  • Demonstrating Citizenship, Personal Development, and Character through learning

Ride of the Chiefs (ROTC)

Leadership students are organizing the 11th annual Ride of the Chiefs (ROTC) and are seeking parent support to help continue this important school tradition.

ROTC is a 12-hour bike-a-thon that raises funds for the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Over the past decade, John G. Diefenbaker High School has raised more than $160,000, including $20,000 in last year’s event.

Event Date: April 17, 2026

Students will spend five months fundraising to participate in this meaningful event.

Parent Volunteers Needed

We are currently seeking 12 parent volunteers to supervise the event from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM on April 17.

Without enough parent supervisors, we will be forced to shorten the event to fit within regular school hours. We want to give our students the full 12-hour experience they’ve worked so hard for, and ensure we raise as much as possible for the children at the hospital!

How to Help
If you are available to help us maintain this incredible tradition, we would love to have you!
When: April 17, 2026 | 3:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Where: John G. Diefenbaker High School
Requirements: A valid police clearance (ePIC) and registration as a volunteer.

To sign up as a volunteer, please go to SchoolEngage and complete the Volunteer Registration form. As soon as you complete the steps to register, please email your form and police clearance document to the school at johngdiefenbaker@cbe.ab.ca
