Hannah L did us proud at Speech Nationals in Winnipeg on Feb 10-12. While she did not medal, she did place in the top half of her group, which is outstanding for a Grade 10 student. Way to go, Hannah!

Artist Spotlight

Kylie L. is a grade 12 student who primarily works with acrylic on canvas, although she also enjoys exploring

different mediums. She’s loved art since childhood and has embraced experimenting with different styles, textures and compositions as she grows older.

Kylie finds inspiration from other artists and her culture. When creating art, she likes to work off of a prompt and prefers focusing on one project at a time. She believes a person’s ideas and creativity shine through in their work, and says that creating art makes her feel happy and accomplished.

Kylie plans to maintain art as a hobby, though she does recognize the usefulness of it in dentistry, which is what she will be pursuing next year.

This is a picture of her art, which is displayed by the main entrance at the time of writing.
