It’s Survey Time
During our TA (10:23-10:43) on Wednesday, February 14, Diefenbaker students will be filling in one of two surveys required by the CBE and Alberta Education. Grade 10 students are expected to respond to the Alberta Education Assurance Survey, while our Grade 11 & 12 students will be filling in the CBE’s Student Survey. Each survey is anonymous and takes roughly 15 minutes to complete either on a cell phone or on any of our school computers. Parents may also receive a survey request from Alberta Education in the mail. We strongly ask that you participate in this survey. Results from surveys help us to ensure that we are providing a safe and caring environment for our students as well as strong academic programs. The resulting data is often used to inform our annual School Development Plan.

Artist Spotlight
Louis Y is a Grade 10 student that finds joy in sketching and drawing. He has taken art classes ever since he was a 5-year-old and has continued ever since. Back in China, he participated in and won an art tournament when he was very young. He has always been inspired by the beauty and tranquility of nature. As an artist, he expresses his love for this by making beautiful sketches of natural landscapes like rivers, lakes and more. When asked for advice on how to perfect these kinds of drawings, he said to find the right perspective, include value and add in the details. He is now producing many artworks in Art 10, such as an Altered Artwork painting. Louis says that he will continue making art throughout his life, both as a minor profession and as a lifetime hobby. His message to others about what it means to do art is, “Just Art!…” J
