Celebrate Pink Shirt Day on February 26
In response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts to all the boys in the school to wear. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe.
On Wednesday, February 26, wear a pink shirt to help spread kindness and a sense of belonging! Promoting inclusion is something that occurs in our schools every day. Check out some of the information and resources available!

Ramadan Mubarak!!
Many of our students will be celebrating and observing Ramadan which begins on February 28. To support their right to follow their faith, following CBE Administrative Regulation 3067, and in consultation with our Muslim Students Association, we will be offering a prayer space at the beginning of Duhr on school days Mondays to Thursdays. Students will be expected to leave class on time, follow their cultural expectations, complete their prayers, and return to class within a 20 minute window of time. The prayer space will be supervised and only available from March 3-8 at 12:40 - 1:00 and from March 10-13 and 17-20 at 1:40 - 2:00.
Teachers also may be covering important instruction or assessments during these times and it may not be possible for students to miss classes as a result. Students need to talk to their teachers ahead of time to discuss anything they may miss while they are out of class.
