Artist Spotlight
Taryn B is in Diefenbaker’s Band Program. She has been playing the oboe for the last four years. Ella Fitzgerald is her inspiration for pursuing the Arts. Music and Band are important programs to her as it helps her feel good and contributes to her positive self image. Taryn is able to express herself by doing something she loves when playing in the school's band. In her first year of playing in Grade 9, she won the award for “Most Improved Band Student”! Taryn plans to continue with music by joining a band or an orchestra in the future and she also plans to attend a post secondary Fine Arts Program! --Written by Sara B.
