A reminder to Grade 12s to check in MyPass if you are on track to graduate in June. If you have concerns, please see your Guidance Counsellor. 

The link for Grads to order tickets for the Formal Reception will be sent out via Messenger next week and will be posted on D2L. In order to reserve tickets, you must pay your Grad fees, so check PowerSchool and contact the Business Office if you require assistance.

Grade 12 students interested in applying for CBE scholarships may now create an account and apply for over 40 scholarships at www.educationmatters.ca

CBe-Learn Summer School Registration

Students wishing to sign up to take a summer school course with CBe-Learn online must complete a form located in Student Services starting Monday April 14. Students will have until April 30 to complete and return the information required on the form.

Information will soon be made available for students wishing to complete a course in the classroom at Chinook Learning during the summer. Please stay tuned for further announcements.

Chinook Learning Services Summer School (in the classroom)

Students wishing to take a course in person in a classroom during the month of July are strongly encouraged to review all of the summer school information available at www.chinooklearningservices.com.

NOTE: Not all high school courses are offered in a classroom setting, so it is important to review which courses are being offered, and at which locations.

Beginning May 5^, students may enter their requests into a Microsoft form that will be available in the Diefenbunker D2L shell.

If students have any questions they can speak with their Guidance counselor.

Diefenbaker celebrated Culture Week

Last week, Diefenbaker celebrated Culture Week.  Our Showcase Performances on Thursday during lunch highlighted and celebrated our diverse cultures here at Dief!  Students showed off their dance and performance skills and the crowd were enthralled by the talent of our Diefenbaker students. Shuyan S. (Grade 10), Arshia K. (Grade 10) and Riya S. (Grade 12) were some of our featured performers and wowed students and staff with their performances. Thank you all for your support throughout the week!

IB Exam Schedule Update

The IB exam schedule can be found linked here and posted on the school website. Start times and locations have been updated. Please note that the Math and Chemistry exams are scheduled on Non-Instructional Days.

We’re reaching out to our school community to let you know that the future of the yearbook program is at a crossroads. Due to low sales in recent years, we are considering whether to continue the program next year (2025-2026). However, your support this year can make a difference!

Subway & Booster Juice Healthy Hunger Lunch

Is your student interested in having Subway & Booster Juice at lunch? Parent Council is offering Subway & Booster Juice through Healthy Hunger.  Lunches will be delivered at lunch time on Wednesday throughout the month of April and can be picked up outside the main office.   You must pre-order and pre-pay!  To order, create an account at www.HealthyHunger.ca.  Please register the student by name through the homeroom teacher.  Place the order and pay for it through the account.  Order must be placed Friday for the following Wednesday delivery.

Parent Council Spring Seeds Fundraiser

We have an ideal opportunity for anyone considering planting a vegetable or flower garden (large or small!) to purchase various seeds and support John G Diefenbaker Parent Association.  Money raised is for our general account which funds items such as parent education sessions, donations for student fundraising events and school events. 

The campaign will be running from March 20 to May 2. Make It Sow only uses high-quality seeds and stands behind their products with 100% guaranteed satisfaction. They do not supply GMO seeds and only use germination-tested sources ideal for Canadian climates. Interested in gardening, or are you simply interested in getting a head start on your spring planting supplies?

Orders must be submitted no later than April 30.  Product will be available for pick up at the school May 9.  The Make It Sow Bonus program will also plant trees on our behalf. For every ten packages we sell, they will plant one tree in Canada on our behalf with the certificate, so if we sell 200 packages, they will plant 20 trees.
