Canadian Citizenship Ceremony at Dief
Thursday, April 23, we hosted a Canadian Citizenship Ceremony here at Diefenbaker. We hosted 58 families who became official Canadian Citizens in our main gym today. The Presiding Official Patrick Jarvis was joined in the receiving line by our Principal Jason Arrell, our Area Director Tori Healing, our CBE Trustee Chair Laura Hack, a Knowledge Keeper Corrine Eagletail-Frazier, Officer Shelley Tiamzon from Canadian Border Services and finally Mr. Bill Hilton, our Social Studies Teacher. Mr. Hilton spoke and was also the person who put this event together with the help of Mr. Stephen Moses and Ms. Natascha Schwarzer-Ansell. The event was witnessed by all our Social Studies classes as well. This is a monumental event for these families and we at Dief were proud to host this ceremony.

The LITA students hosted their last Lunchbox Showcase of the year this Tuesday. There was art done by the Art 20 students, a riveting one act play, a beautiful choir rendition and an awesome instrumental song performed.
There was an attentive and fantastic audience, and the display was enjoyed by all. The Arts are alive and well here at Diefenbaker! Let’s keep the energy flowing right into next year.
Please come check out the Visual Arts Show next month from 6:00-7:00 PM on May 27.
