URGENT MESSAGE REGARDING EXAMS
Parents, students are bringing their cell phones into our secured exams – and this is a security breech. Any unauthorized form of technology in an exam may cause a mark of zero and if in a Diploma Exam, it must be reported to both CBE Superintendents as well as the Alberta Government. Breaking diploma exam rules may result in the student NOT completing high school until they rewrite that diploma one year later. This is quite serious and we request that you help support your child in NOT breaking any of the exam’s rules.
By explaining the severity of their decisions, you will be helping them as well as our staff in ensuring that our exams are administered without any contraventions and that your student completes all their AB Ed diploma requirements.

Congratulations to Bhrithe S. in Business 10 for winning a financial literacy scholarship competition this semester. Bhrithe’s outstanding submission earned her the top prize and a $500 scholarship from Enriched Academy.
We are proud of Bhrithe’s achievement and the dedication, creativity, and excellence demonstrated by our students at Diefenbaker High School.

Textbook Return
All textbooks must be returned to the library/book room if students do not need them for their Final/Provincial exams. Please note that after Final/Provincial exams, students must return all their textbooks, otherwise a book fine will be automatically charged to their account. All textbooks are barcoded with a unique number, and students are asked to return the exact same copy signed out to them. Returning somebody else’s copy will not clear your account. If students have questions about their textbooks, please see Ms. Richards in the library.
Dara is a Grade 12 student here at Diefenbaker. He is a multi-media artist and explores many different mediums; 2D art such as painting with acrylics, paint pens, pencil crayons, and crayons, as well as more literary art such as storytelling & script writing…Dara’s even bridged into song writing and composition. Dara truly does it all! His specialty across all his art is storytelling, and he frequently combines different art media to enhance his projects. For example, a current project of his is ‘Animal High,’ a satirical animation about the high school life of anthropomorphic animals. He develops a story, along with many episodes, and uses art to create visuals for how the characters look, act, and interact, which is especially important considering he envisions the series to be fully animated.
Dara is especially fond of animation, and draws inspiration from movies such as K Pop Demon Hunters, directors such as Tim Burton, and film companies such as Laika. This is most evident within his combination pieces, where he takes two separate pieces of media from fandoms he is a part of and combines them into one single composition. He has done this with a piece called ‘Regular Demon Hunters,’ which is a combination of the Regular Show and K-Pop Demon Hunters. He also combines mediums he loves, such as video games and animation. He did this with his movie adaptation of Geometry Dash, another project in the works. Overall, Dara is constantly working on so many cool projects that are worth learning more about. On top of being an amazing artist, Dara is a wonderful person who loves to share his art. To learn more about Dara and his work, reach out to him in the hallways, or online where he posts his art on Discord, Tumblr, or Snapchat.
