On behalf of the staff at John G Diefenbaker High School, I am pleased to welcome students and families to a new school year. We are excited to reconnect with returning students and extend a warm welcome to those who are joining our community for the first time. The year ahead will offer countless opportunities for students to learn, grow, and become involved both inside and outside the classroom. Together, we look forward to supporting students as they pursue their goals, explore new interests, and make lasting memories.
A strong partnership between home and school is essential to student success. We are committed to maintaining open communication and providing families with the information needed to support their child's learning experience.
John G Diefenbaker High School has a reputation of strong academics where students at all levels can succeed in the classroom. Additionally, our school maintains high expectations for student conduct in all aspects of our school community. Students are supported to meet these expectations as well as provided feedback when they do not meet these expectations.
Beyond the classroom, we encourage all students to become active members of our school community by participating in clubs, athletic teams, fine arts programs and leadership opportunities. Getting involved helps students build connections, develop new skills and create a stronger sense of belonging. Research consistently shows that students who feel connected to their school community are more likely to experience both personal and academic success. We hope every student takes the opportunity to explore their interests, discover new passions and find meaningful ways to get involved.
Thank You
Jason Arrell
